DANCE PSYCHOLOGY
by Dr. Agnes Rocca
We often forget that dance, as well as being physical and bodily involves thoughts, behaviors, emotions and relationships.
To become professional dancers, the children enter school early, when they are still in a very delicate phase of their evolution, then passing through adolescence. The young people attending a school dance between 9 and 22 years old about spending most of their time here. An early formative choice compared to their peers and sometimes exhausting: dance requires, in fact, a considerable mental, physical and emotional effort. For those who want to dance it is necessary to realize that the training process is not without its difficulties and requires clear ideas, motivation and determination to achieve your goal. There are important choices, so you have to give importance to the problems related to self-esteem and competition, especially in a period such as adolescence.
Feeding Dancer
by Dr. Filomena Acanfora
The body, for a dancer is very important: it is the instrument with which it can undertake its activities, most are healthy, the better the performance of the dancer. A very difficult issue is the nutrition. We must consider that a balanced diet is the first step to having a good physique and improve the performance of the dancer, unfortunately, many young people are not accustomed to proper nutrition. There are no categories of nutrients to delete, but unhealthy foods, such as pre-packaged products as rich in additives and preservatives, full of salt or sugar that lead to physical and psychological dependence. It is urged, therefore, to pay more attention to what you eat and being a careful consumer awareness to promote a healthy physical and mental development.
